The purpose of the OTG L.A.S.T. (Look and Shoot Transition) is to induce cognitive load on a shooter and assess their ability to call their shots based off the stimulus of their sights, not by looking for holes in paper. Utilizing Hit Factor scoring, it will test accuracy, speed, and awareness level

The drill consists of 4 strings of fire (left to right, right to left, high to low, low to high).

4 magazines with a minimum of 6 rounds in each is required.

Can be shot at 3, 5, or 7 yards, depending on the shooter’s skill level.

Circles must be engaged in correct order, with each circle requiring 1 hit per string.

Hits are worth 10 points. A possible 240 total points is up for grabs. Missed circles are a 10 point penalty.

Each string will be timed.

At the end, add up your hit score and you total elapsed time for all 4 strings. Then divide your hit score by your total time to get your Hit Factor.

Hit Factor Goals:

3 yds – 17 or better

5 yds – 15 or better

7 yds – 13 or better
